Benaocaz – Mirador de Ubrique – Piedra Parda – Benaocaz

23 February, 2017 by admin

A short route, but beautiful and interesting to do with kids. We leave Benaocaz, by the right side of the college, go down until the fountain Fuente de las Piletas, cross the road that goes from Benaocaz to Ubrique, arriving at the Llanos de la Huerta. We cross the road another time and find a path that will take us down until we are the same height of Piedra Parda. We continue going down, pass a gate that we should leave closed, then we cross a very small stream – very beautiful when it has water, cross another gate, that we also must leave closed, and right after cross it, behind a few trees and undergrowths that are right in front of us, we see the remains of what once was a lookout, and if we continue climbing we can also enjoy the remains of an old Roman path.
Now it’s time to climb everything we descended, but this time we will do it surrounding Piedra Parda by its south face. We have to go up and once we are at a fork almost indistin-guishable, we can choose to turn right to catch the Roman path that comes from Ubrique or continue going up until the College to arrive in Benaocaz.
